Annabelle's First Bath

I'm kind of late posting this one. We had to compress the video so it could be uploaded. This was back on the Day she was born.

On ‎Sunday, ‎June ‎28, ‎2009, ‏‎11:38:44 AM, Annabelle gets her first bath...

Watch the video.

Going Home

Well,

We finally got out of the hospital and made it home last night. Grandma and Grandpa Paton brought Eliza. Eliza brought her natural glowing charm and a big bag of suckers for us all to share. Daddy got one too, and I'm taking this picture with a sucker in my mouth. Eliza is very good at sharing. Let's hope that continues.

When we put Annabelle in her car seat, I remembered how small Eliza was in the beginning. This is the same seat we brought her home in.

Grandma Paton Helps Eliza get into her seat. Annabelle has already fallen asleep.

Here we are finally at home.

Here is a closeup shot of Annabelle.

The Baby has a Name...

We are still at the hospital and everyone is really tired.

We are waiting till the doctor calls in and they will probably discharge us around 5pm.

Baby has slept most of the day; no visitors so far. Everything has been very quiet.

Rob has also slept most of the time, except when eating the free snacks they provide for Mom's and Dads, or trying to upload the video of the baby's first bath to the blog. Hopefully we will be able to have that available soon.

Michelle has been enjoying the new baby and the catered meals.

Eliza and Grandpa Paton were playing at the Patona Bay playground when we called. She gave a fairly long dissertation of what she had done today involving all sorts of words and numbers. We are really not sure what she was saying since she was talking vey fast and distracted by the need to get back to play. She's now taking a nap and when she wakes, she will come with Grandma and Grandpa Paton to meet us at the hospital to drive home with the new baby.

New Baby without a Name Yet

At 4:17 am today, the baby was born. She was 7 pounds, 19.75 inches long. We have not decided on her name yet, but will let eveyone know when we decide. We have asked her what she would like her name to be, but she offers no advice so far.

It was a fast delivery. I got home from work around midnight and Michelle's contractions were already only 3 minutes apart. She directed me while I finished packing the bags and putting stuff into the car and we raced off towards the hospital. We timed contractions in the car and 30 minutes later at the hospital contractions were less than 2 minutes apart. Michelle was 4 cm when we arrived and 6 cm by the time the anethesiologist got to us. Things progressed very quickly and by 4:21 Michelle had a new baby in her arms. It was a natural birth without any major complications and everyone is healthy and doing well.

Eliza is staying with Grandma and Grandpa Paton and just left us from visiting at the hospital. She's not too happy about being away from us for another night. She really enjoyed holding the new baby and did not want to leave us at the hospital. We will probably go home tomorrow morning.
